Burger Barn
Burger Barn is ‘the’ hub for burgers and hotdogs in the city, with a fresh array of choices and flavours as well as a new WTF challenge to keep things spiced up. Here, I tried the Barn New York Dog, which is a double sausage with mozzarella cheese, sandwiched between salami and grilled onions and topped off with mustard, Americano-style.
No hotdog, according to me, is complete without some of that yellow, pungent American mustard. It was definitely messy to eat, but fun all the same! You’re left feeling pretty happy and full. I also had the Barn Italian Dog, which is literally like a pizza in a bun, with a yummy tomato sauce, oregano and cheese. Burger Barn offers all kinds of hot dogs, spicy, cheesy, Italian, Mexican, American, Indian and other extremes.

Peter’s Pan
This little eatery has great breakfast options, with various egg preparations, and follow an all-day breakfast system. In a recent change of menu, they have added in burgers, hot dogs and some finger foods too.
They have three types of hot dogs — the Great American, Yummy Dog and a Lamb Chili Cheese Con Carne Hot Dog. The Great American Dog has a chicken sausage with jalapenos and Americano mustard in it.
The Yummy Dog consists of chicken sausage, mayo and mustard and lastly the Lamb Chili Cheese Con Carne has kheema, a chicken sausage, cheese and chili sauce. Their Blueberry and Chocolate Marble Waffles are legen-(wait-for-it)-dary and the Banana Caramel Pancakes simply top the list. Other stuff here includes their Cheesy Nachos with a Coriander salsa, their Mac and Cheese Fries and Jalapeno Poppers.

Hog Dog
This hot dog stand stationed in Inorbit Mall is a recent discovery. They have six types of basic hot dogs, both vegetarian and non-vegetarian. You have a regular 6” frankfurter and a large one that measures 8”.
They have a steamer where the hot dogs and buns are steamed to soften them and sauces are then drizzled over. I had the Mexican dream, which had salsa, chilli tomatoes and mustard. It’s fun to eat it because you get a few sweet notes a few spicy notes and also a few pungent notes because of the mustard.
They also have a Ball Dog — it’s a delicious and juicy, filled with chicken meat balls. Lastly it is topped with chilli tomato sauce. You can also get a Hot Dog On-a-Stick, which is just a play on the corn dog.
Location: Inorbit Mall, Nagar Road
Price: Rs 70 - Rs 80 for the Hot Dog, Rs 60 - Rs 70 for the Hot Dog On-a-Stick
Hitebar
Hitebar is insanely famous for its beef and chicken burgers, not to mention the shawarmas and those liver, tongue and brain rolls — which are just amazing. They also have hot dogs which are not just authentic hot dogs, but more with this Indian twist. There is a plain Chicken Hot Dog, a Cheese Chicken Hot Dog and a Cheese and Egg Chicken Hot Dog, which I tried out.
This is a frankfurter with salad, mayonnaise and egg and cheese on top. The heat from the egg and frankfurter is enough to melt the cheese, making the combo even more mouth-watering. This is a good quantity of food, enough to satisfy a big appetite.
Location: Kedari Nagar, Wanowrie, Camp, near Husainy Baugh
Price: Rs 60 - Rs 80
Burger House
This place is incredibly cheap and the portions are humongous. Recently opened up in place of Burger Barn which moved to it’s new address, here, I ordered the House Flavours Hot Dog, which has a frankfurter, caramelized onions, mushrooms and green chutney.
The green chutney was sweet and spicy, caramelised onions are always a delight and the mushrooms stabilised all the flavors. I also tried the House Buffalo Hot Dog, which is incredibly spicy. It has mushrooms, caramelised onions and the works. They have a pretty good variety of hot dogs to pick from.
