Once upon a time, an Emraan Hashmi film essentially meant Mahesh Bhatt, a dark subject and of course, lots of kissing and lovemaking. Not any more. With several hits behind him, a much lauded performance in Shanghai and plum offers in hand, the actor is surely going places.
So much so, he has now bought the entire top floor of Reshma Apartments at Pali Hill. He already owns the floor below, where he currently resides. What’s more, plans are afoot to connect the flats on both floors so as to build a spanking new penthouse.
Emraan told Mirror, “I am redoing my house. I am meeting up with designers to get a fix on the interiors. I hope I get some time soon from work.” The actor hopes his new place will be ready by mid next year. We hope so too.

Europe calling
The actor, who's been working at breakneck speed for almost a year, is all set for a much-needed break. He has left for Europe on Saturday night. “I can’t remember the last time I went on a vacation.
I went to Goa for New Year but it was more like touch and go,” said Emraan, who is currently shooting for Vishal Bhardwaj’s Ek Thi Daayan. “If I don’t go out, I will soon land up on a hospital bed,” he laughed.
So what's the itinerary? “I hate planned trips. I will land in Amsterdam and hire a cab from there and go on a road trip of Europe. I have some family and friends in London, who will probably join me,” said the actor.
Emraan said he had informed Bhardwaj about his vacation. “I will resume the shoot next month,” he said. - Mauli Singh
