Q Tell us about your journey from being an MBA to winning Lux The Chosen One.
A My friends saw the audition advertisement on the channel’s social network page. I sent in my pictures and the very next day, I was called for the auditions, which went off very well.
And, the rest as they say is history! My parents have always been supportive in all my endeavours. In fact, they were more keen that I take up anchoring and acting as a career.
But I was hell bent on completing a formal education first. So, after completing my MBA (marketing), I worked in a channel. The news of the win is still sinking in. The platform is huge and will definitely help me achieve my dreams.
Q What are the things about Pune you enjoy?
A My mom is from Pune. I absolutely love this city, its weather and of course, the eateries. Though I have studied in Mumbai, Pune remains very special. I loved German Bakery and would visit it quite often. I have partied at Stone Water Grill and just cannot get over the food at Vaishali.
Q Your plans in Bollywood.
This platform also promises a break in Bollywood. So I am surely looking forward to that. I want to put in my best and do the best. For now, I will concentrate on being the official face for the channel and anchoring its shows.
Q Karishma Kapoor was the judge and Genelia Deshmukh your mentor. How was the experience?
A They were sweethearts throughout the show. We spent more time with Genelia as she was our mentor and groomed us. Considering Karisma is such a huge star, she was humble and helpful. We interacted with them on a professional and personal level.
Q Who do you idolise?
A I have no formal training in either anchoring or acting. I have blindly followed my dreams and my parents’ wishes. When it comes to hosting, I think no one can beat Cat Deeley from So You Think You Can Dance?. She is interactive in a different manner in every episode. Frankly, I don’t think anyone here can do what she does. For films, Madhuri Dixit is the only name that I look up to.
