A budgie in the loo
Strange items get left behind in public toilets all the time, but none could be more weird than this: a budgie, later named Will, was dumped in a cubicle at a bookmakers in Scotland. The bird was found abandoned in a cage in the toilets of a William Hill shop on Maryhill Road, Glasgow reports metro.co.uk.
He has been turned over to the Glasgow Animal Rescue and Rehoming Centre. Staff at the centre have named him Will, presumably signifying the name of the shop where he was found rather than his passing resemblance to Hollywood star Will Smith.
According to metro.co.uk, a diet of lettuce, carrots and lean chicken may help Leipzig Zoo’s cross-eyed opossum, Heidi get her peepers back to normal. It is believed that Heidi’s crossed eyes, that have made her an international sensation, could be a result of a bad diet when she was younger.
It may have led to fat deposits forming behind her eyes. Heidi first rose to fame in December last year when a picture appeared in the German newspaper, Bild. She now has around 290,000 Facebook followers.
The Daily Mail says that People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) has released a new 30 second video (even riper than their rejected advert ‘Veggie Love’ in 2009) that shows a stream of models entering a casting agency wearing sexy lingerie.
They are asked by the director to “pick a vegetable and show us how much you love it”. The girls are invited to select from a range of ripe vegetables and are then seen frolicking on a nearby couch.
