For me, comfort food is a dish or vegetable that makes me feel better and healthier.

And, in this case there is nothing that can beat a freshly made meal at home. I am not very fond of non-vegetarian food, and honestly don’t enjoy it much. From soups to salads and fruits, I relish just about everything that is vegetarian.

If you ask me to pick a dish that tops the list, then it has to be varan bhaat. It is an all time favourite and a weakness too. I can polish off a plate of varan bhaat at any time of the day.

Gulachi poli is another tempting offer I can’t resist. Rabdi, gulab jamun and modak among a few others literally comfort me.

I am very partial with sweets and can have them in any amount without feeling guilty. But as my work expects me to maintain a diet and watch my weight and figure, I try and control my craving for sweets.

A funny incident would be my cooking experience in the seventh grade. My parents had gone out and my sister and I were feeling hungry. I had once seen my mother make sheera. I was confident that I could make it.

But it turned out to be a disaster and only when my mom returned we realised that I had used idli rawa instead of the one used for sheera. But, today I am a decent cook!  I love the American breakfast at Just Round the Corner.
