When you say comfort food, then the first thing that comes to my mind is pizza and pasta. It is easy to make, available easily and tastes awesome. For me, food that fills my tummy and is yummy translates to comfort food.

I have a special list in different cuisines. For example, the croissant and bagel by the French are not only comforting but a great start to the day. Spring rolls in the Chinese section are an all-time favourite. When it comes to Indian dishes, Pudachi vadi made by my mother is something I can have anytime.

In fact, anything made by my mother is comfort food. I remember as a child I would wait to return home from school to hog on chivda, poha with sev and coconut and kothambir vadi.

My wife also makes some great food but I am rarely at home to relish it. I love experimenting with different cuisines but when it comes to starting my day with food then it has to be the usual —poha, upma and dosa.

I have eggs only once a week. My cook is a Maharashtrian and I make him dish all the authentic recipes of our state. I enjoy eating out in Pune, especially the sabudana wada, thalipeeth and bhakri.

These comfort me and keep me feel at home. I love non-vegetarian food and enjoy just about every meat. Fish in particular is what I opt for.
