For a job well done!
Mukta Puntambekar, who’s the project director of Muktangan De-addiction Centre is on cloud number nine, thanks to the cheque of Rs 4,36,000 she received from Aamir Khan on his new hit show Satyamev Jayate.
The money of course was given to help Muktangan. Not only is she very happy at the turn of events, but she told your diarist the experience of meeting the stoic Khan was a great experience.
She was not able to speak with Aamir before the programme started, but went through a deja vu feeling when she was finally able to talk with the star when the show was being aired.
She told your diarist, “Aamir was 100 per cent attentive when I met him at the show, it felt like I had known him for years.” He also told her the message he was trying to send out on that day was to, “Drink in moderation.”
Now, Mukta is still experiencing the after effects of being featured on TV. For starters, due to the show Alcoholic’s Anonymous received around one lakh calls!
If Sachin Tendulkar has been turning heads with his crisp suits lately, allow your diarist to let you in the little secret behind it.
The cricketer, who recently experimented with his hairstyle, has been visiting Savile Row, in Central London, universally acknowledged as the mecca of the perfect bespoke suit.
Tendulkar has reportedly had several suits stitched from the master cutters and tailors there, spending anywhere between Rs 2 - Rs 3 lakh for each piece.
His most recent purchase - a bespoke suit by a Savile Row star of Indian origin Paul Jheeta, tagged at Rs 3 lakh. We believe it was crafted keeping in mind his Wimbledon appearance, alongside British royalty and other A-listers. You can always trust Tendulkar to rise to the occasion.
