Best thing for the city: Politics has always been looked down upon as a messy business and she wants to change this perception here. “It is high time that we get our act together and show people that it is not the way it seems. I intend to bring the brighter and better side of politics to the society, where there is no corruption, disputes or arguments.”
Hitesh Borase-Patil
Age: 30

Background: With a MBA and BCA degree to his credit, Hitesh felt the need that the youth has to come and take charge of the system to make a credible difference!
Motto: One honest man can make a lot of difference in the system and change the way things are working!
Best thing for the city: An educated individual is capable of doing a lot for his society if he has the nessacary will. So, Hitesh intends to do just the same but by maintaining a fair stand. “I am not going to make false statements or promises. I will just do the right thing at the right time. My actions will speak louder than my words!”

Background: This mechanical engineer gave up a well-paid job to serve the city.
Motto: This Anna Hazare follower has opted for door-to-door meetings with people to get himself introduced. He wanted to avoid traffic-related issues to work sincerely for the people.
Best thing for the city: Change the way people and party workers perceive politicians. He wants to get all the wards to function well and do something for the people. “I have had people and party workers come up to me with their problems and that is where I desire to bring a change. I want them to feel happy with their leader.”
Siddharthya Roy
Age: 30

Background: An IT professional, he has always been associated with social causes and believed it was high time he did something for the nation.
Motto: Clean, accountable and youth governance.
Best thing for the city: He intends to organise more ward sabhas on a quarterly basis, where the residents come and discuss issues so that he will strive to solve them. “What we see today is selfish behaviour by many of these wards and their members. So, I want to make the common man accessible to decision-making. They should be allowed to voice their opinion and demand what they deserve.”
Sana Patil
Age: 23
Standing from: Pune Nagrik Sanghatana
Background: A BBA and Hotel management graduate, Sana runs a hotel on the Mumbai-Bangalore highway but wants to make things better for women in the society and make them independent.
Motto: To get the youth to join the corporation and bring about a change in the system.
Best thing for the city: The first thing she wants to do is get the transport system in the city in place. And also services of the PMPML have to be made available to the remotest of areas. “All of us pay our taxes, yet we are not provided what we should be ours. Hence, I want to fight for the basic facilities for those who have to suffer due to the inefficient system.”
