Unwinding Spot

The colour scheme and playtime with his son in the media room is what Ajinkya Firodia loves the most

My media room is where I unwind and catch up with family.  It is me-place that helps relax and chill. It also quickly changes into a formal setting when I want it to.

My Favourite Spot

This place is different from the entire house with respect to design, colour and decor.

This is my den where I watch movies, spend time with friends at the bar and play with my son Hridaan. It has been completely conceptualised by my wife Aparna and designed by Ejaj Hakim. After work, if there is someplace to find me it has to be here. I also entertain my friends down here at the bar. There are times when I have an informal meet with guests in the open space. It is a versatile space, which I love to explore.

Colour Affair

Compared to the colour scheme of the entire house, this space is fun and casual. It is an open area, very fluid and spacious with no walls whatsoever. The glass doors are deliberate so one can view the garden and feel nature right in the room.

The lights are dim on purpose to create the movie time ambience. But the seating arrangement is not typical home theatre style, because I did not want a movie space, I wanted a place that is functional — a place where I can spend time with friends, family and work.

My Company

Sunday mornings again are spent here with Hridaan who just loves this place. There is a separate space for his toys and we end up chatting and playing with each other the entire day.

He loves this corner and I enjoy giving him company. Of late I have started taking music lessons so this spot lets me unwind and practise whenever I want to. Also, it is a great place to view football and cricket matches with friends and family.
