Nitin Bora, a film producer had gone to Khadakwasla with his wife and children for shooting of the film Umang, which he is currently working on, the day the incident took place. Now a complaint has been lodged with Chatushrungi police station and the cops are on a look out for the theives. Unknown thieves forced entry inside the house by breaking the compund wire and the sliding windows. The burglary came to light when the Bora family returned home on Sunday evening from the shooting site. After receiving the complaint, DCP (Zone III) Mahesh Patil, assistant Comissioner of police M P Karade, Chatushrungi police inspector and the dog squad reached the spot. Nitin Bora said, “We returned home and were shocked to see the house burgled. Wardrobes were wide open and things were scattered here and there. Thieves made away with gold and silver ornaments along with cash worth Rs 14 lakh. However, they did not touch gold coins and gold and silver idols kept in the cupboard.” Expressing his concern about rising incidents of burglary and emphasising on the need for neighbourhood watch scheme, Nitin Bora said, “In my opinion police and public should come together to check the growing spate of robberies in the city. Residents of every locality should take responsibility to keep a watch in their locality with the help of police during the night time. People should repose faith in the police.” Anil Kadam, inspector from crime branch, Chatushrungi police station said, “We are now looking for the thieves. We are checking our records and talking to our informers.” Nitin Bora has been the assistant producer of the serial Dakshata and producer of Ghar-sansar, a soap aired on DD Sahyadri channel. His son Prince is playing the lead role in the film Umang. The film is being directed by Pitambar Kale. |
