Fifteen days after an unidentified youth’s bare body was found dumped at Moze College ground near Dighi magazine depot chowk, police investigation has revealed that unknown suspects had brutally killed the youth and had set ablaze his SUV before abandoning it in Bhosari MIDC.

The Vishrantwadi police have identified the deceased as Shivraj Baburao Sagar (26), a resident of Kalewadi and a native of Gorewadi in Osmanabad district. Sagar was working with a travel agency as a driver and had left his home on the evening of June 1 to drop passengers at Patharwadi in Ahmednagar district. On the same day, Sagar had called up his wife at 11.30 pm before he went missing.
The police are yet to ascertain the motive behind Sagar’s murder and burning of the SUV.
Senior Police Inspector Motichand Rathod of the Vishrantwadi PS said, “After dumping Sagar’s body the SUV was burnt within two hours.” An eye witness had informed the police the two or three unidentified persons came in the Tavera car (MH14, BA-46) and fled after dumping the body. The police had also found a few stones which were used to kill Sagar.
The owner of the concerned travel agency had identified the SUV by confirming the chassis number.
