Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) cell secretary for slums Prashant Kamble (35), of Ramabainagar in Ghatkopar, was killed while his friend Vijay Adagale (37) of Ghatkopar was injured after the car they were travelling in hit a divider on the Pune-Mumbai Expressway at Aundhe village in the early hours of Wednesday.

Lonavla police rushed to the spot and started rescue operations. NCP workers had come to Pune for party work and were returning to Mumbai when the driver lost control of the vehicle and rammed into the divider
